ATS Keyword Match — How to Hit 90%+ Match Every Time
Your ATS score is largely a keyword match game. Here's a repeatable process to hit 90%+ on any job.
Step 1: Extract keywords from the JD. List required skills, tools, certifications, and repeated phrases.
Step 2: Check your resume for each keyword. Mark which are missing.
Step 3: Add missing keywords naturally into your summary, skills, and experience bullets — never as a keyword dump.
Step 4: Use exact phrases from the JD. If they say 'machine learning', don't only write 'ML'.
Step 5: Prioritize 'must-have' keywords from the requirements section over 'nice-to-have' ones.
Use an ATS checker to score your resume against the JD and iterate.
Remember: keyword match is necessary but not sufficient — formatting and readability still matter.
Tools like Unfiltered AI automate this entire process: paste the JD and get an optimized resume in seconds.
