Resume Tips
Resume Contact Information — Everything to Include (and Skip)
Your contact information is the one section that must be perfectly accurate — a typo here loses the offer.
Essential: full name, phone number, professional email, city and state, and LinkedIn URL.
Recommended: personal website or portfolio, and a note about relocation or work authorization if relevant.
Email: use a name-based address (jane.smith@gmail.com). Create one if your current address is unprofessional.
Phone: include your mobile with a professional voicemail message. Recruiters will call it.
LinkedIn: customize your URL and make sure the profile matches your resume — recruiters cross-check.
Skip: date of birth, marital status, photo (in most countries), full home address, social security number, and IDs.
For remote roles, state your time zone or willingness to overlap: 'Open to remote (EST/CST) or hybrid in Austin, TX.'
